This 1989 Porsche 911 Speedster is one of 823 US-market examples produced for the model year and is powered by a 3.2-liter flat-six paired with a G50 five-speed manual transaxle. Finished in black over matching upholstery, the car is equipped with 16″ Fuchs alloy wheels, drilled rotors, a black convertible soft top, a fiberglass twin-hump cover panel, air conditioning, and a Blaupunkt cassette stereo. The car was acquired by the owner, a licensed retail dealer in Louisiana, in 2018 and was previously listed on BaT in December 2021. This 911 Speedster is now offered by the seller on behalf of the current owner with a clean Carfax report and a Texas title.
The Speedster shares its widened rear bodywork with the 911 Turbo and features a unique shortened windscreen and side windows along with a fiberglass twin-hump convertible-top rear deck. This example is finished in black and features a black soft top, fog lights, power-adjustable side mirrors, and rear stone guards. Scratches are noted on the plastic convertible top window.
Staggered-width 16″ Fuchs wheels are mounted with Michelin Pilot Exalto tires measuring 205/55 up front and 245/45 out back. Braking is handled by black Porsche-script calipers over cross-drilled rotors at all four corners.
The power-adjustable sport seats are upholstered in black leather and are joined by a color-coordinated dashboard, center console, door panels, and carpets. Interior elements include air conditioning, a Blaupunkt cassette stereo, cassette tape storage, and Speedster-branded floor mats. Fading is visible on interior trim. The Speedster was not equipped with rear seats.
The four-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation including a central tachometer, which is flanked by a 170-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and gauges for oil temperature, oil pressure, oil level, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 21k miles, approximately 1k of which were added under current ownership. Speedometer repairs were performed in 2021, therefore true mileage is unknown.
The 3.2-liter flat-six features Bosch fuel injection and was rated at 215 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque when new.
