No Reserve: Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa Documents

This 49-piece collection of documents contains technical drawings, sketches, and technical specification summaries for Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa models. The seller reports that ten pages list information relevant to the chassis 526/B and 532/D cars, and the remaining 38 sheets pertain to the Testa Rossa engine, brake, suspension, and gearbox systems. A Ferrari-branded folder contains the paper and imitation vellum sheets. Acquired by the seller in 2023 from the estate of a Ferrari collector, these Testa Rossa documents are now offered at no reserve in Newport Beach, California.

Ferrari began development of the 250 Testa Rossa, or “red head,” in the spring of 1957 as a successor to the 500 TRC in anticipation of lower displacement limits that were soon to be imposed by the Commissione Sportiva Internazionale. A folder with Ferrari branding and handwritten “250/TR” markings is included in the collection.

The documents are printed on a mix of imitation vellum and standard paper, and many of the sheets have Ferrari script and prancing horse logos in the upper corners. Some sheets are secured with staples, which the seller notes show rust. Discoloration and browning are visible on the pages.
