Ex–Mille Miglia Storica 1954 Oldsmobile Super 88 Holiday

This 1954 Oldsmobile Super 88 Holiday two-door hardtop was purchased new in Florida and remained with the family of its original owner until it was sold from California to Washington in 2011. The vehicle was subsequently returned to California and modified for competition in the 2014 running of the Mille Miglia Storica in Italy, after which it was offered as a BaT Exclusive in July 2014 and relocated to Virginia. The FantomWorks television show on the Velocity Channel featured the car in a 2015 episode that focused on preparing it for additional racing events, and the vehicle returned to the Mille Miglia field in both 2018 and 2019 and also has competed in two Colorado Grand tours. Powered by a 324ci Rocket V8 paired with a three-speed Turbo Hydramatic automatic transmission, the car is finished in turquoise and white over a blue and white interior. The suspension, braking, and cooling systems have been updated for competition use, and other equipment includes a transmission cooler, an electric fuel pump, power steering, power brakes, wheel covers, lap belts, and aftermarket air conditioning. The selling dealer acquired the car in June 2024. This modified Super 88 is now offered with historical photos of a 1954 Oldsmobile that raced at the contemporaneous Mille Miglia as well as a FIVA identification card, correspondence from previous owners, service records, manufacturer’s literature, a collection of spare parts, a car cover, and a Pennsylvania title.

Finished from the factory in Capri Blue with a Polar White roof (40-60), the vehicle is said to have been repainted decades ago while under the care of the original owner’s family. Decals from races in which the car has been campaigned adorn multiple body panels. The bumpers have been rechromed, and additional paintwork has been performed on the lower areas of the right-front fender, according to the seller, who also notes that some of the chrome is pitted.
