This 1987 Chevrolet V30 HD Custom Deluxe was delivered from the factory as a 4×4 chassis cab pickup before being outfitted as a brush fire truck and used by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources’ Forest Fire Experiment Station. It is powered by a 5.7-liter V8 linked with a four-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. Finished in red over Saddle Tan vinyl, it features a firefighting pump station, a water storage tank, a custom front brush guard with hood and cab protection bars, a front winch, front fender plates, running boards, a receiver hitch, manually locking front hubs, 16″ steel wheels, and cabin-mounted pump controls. The seller purchased the truck in 2024 showing 23k miles. This V30 HD brush truck is now offered with an operating manual, a winch controller, and a clean Michigan title in the seller’s name.

The truck is finished in red with a yellow roof and features include a custom steel front bumper with a built-in brush guard and hood, fender, and cab protection bars as well as a 12k-pound front winch, tow hooks, steel front-fender protection plates, cab lights, diamond-plate running boards, an emergency light, a receiver hitch, and a custom steel bed that houses the firefighting equipment along with rear grab handles and a step bumper. Dings, scratches, and faded paint are noted around the exterior.

Eight-lug 16″ steel wheels are mounted with 235/65 Firestone Steeltex Radial A/T tires. A spare wheel and tire are mounted atop the water tank. The truck is equipped with manually locking front hubs, and braking is provided by power-assisted front discs and rear drums. Sidewall cracking is seen in the right-rear tire.

Firefighting equipment includes a Briggs & Stratton single-cylinder engine with electric start, a Wajax Pacific pump, a Hannay power-operated hose reel, and a 200-gallon water storage tank. Spray nozzles located on the left and right corners of the front bumper are operated by controls inside the cab. Water has not been run through the system under current ownership.
