This 1971 Ford Mustang Boss 351 is one of 312 that were ordered in Bright Blue Metallic with black Ruffino and Corinthian vinyl covering the bucket seats according to the included Deluxe Marti report. The car was restored approximately 17 years ago and was acquired by the seller in 2015, and it is powered by a 351ci Cleveland V8 paired with a four-speed manual transmission. It was originally specified with a 3.91 Traction-Lok rear axle and an AM radio, and it also has front and rear spoilers, a Ram Air hood secured by pins, 15″ Magnum 500-style wheels, and a Hurst shifter. Sanderson headers and PerTronix ignition have been added. This Boss 351 is now offered with a Deluxe Marti report, service records, spare parts, a car cover, and a clean Wisconsin title in the seller’s name.
The car was ordered in Bright Blue Metallic (6) and has Argent accents and stripes. The Ram Air hood is secured by pins, and the car also has front and rear spoilers, color-keyed dual racing mirrors, and chrome bumpers. Paintwork was performed to address a scratch on the right-rear fender in 2023.
The 15″ Magnum 500-style wheels are mounted with 235/60 BFGoodrich tires. Braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear drums. The master cylinder was replaced in 2022 and the rear brake drums were replaced in 2024.
The car was ordered with black Ruffino and Corinthian vinyl covering the bucket seats as well as an AM radio. The car also has Ford-logo floor mats and a Hurst shifter. The seller notes chipped paint on the thresholds, an inoperative dome light, and a 1/8″ hole in the headliner.
The two-spoke steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, and a fuel-level gauge. The car was optioned with auxiliary gauges for oil temperature and voltage. The five-digit odometer shows 71k miles, approximately 3k of which were added under current ownership.
The 351ci Cleveland V8 was factory rated at 330 horsepower and has a functional Ram Air intake, and the seller states it was rebuilt during the restoration. The Holley four-barrel carburetor was rebuilt in 2015 by Benchwick carburetor in Youngstown, Ohio, and Sanderson headers and PerTronix ignition have been added. The removed Autolite 4300D carburetor was reportedly overhauled and is included in the sale.
