This 1962 GMC 1000 is a Wide-Side pickup that was refurbished in 2023. The exterior, interior, and wheels were repainted, and mechanical work involved replacing the shocks, brakes, spark plugs, plug wires, distributor cap and rotor, valve cover gaskets, exhaust manifold gaskets, and battery. The truck is powered by a 305ci 305D V6 linked with a four-speed manual transmission, and it is equipped with 16″ white-finished steel wheels, lap belts, and a heater. This 1000 pickup was acquired by the selling dealer in 2023 and is now offered at no reserve with the owner’s manual, service records, spare parts, and a clean Washington state title.
The truck is finished in yellow and is said to have been repainted in 2023. Features include a Wide-Side bed as well as quad-round headlights, a white-painted front bumper, dual side mirrors, a black-painted wood bed floor, a diamond-plate rear bumper, and a drop-down tailgate.
The 16″ steel wheels were finished in white in 2023 and wear polished hubcaps and 235/65 Atturo CV400 tires. The truck was factory equipped with an independent front suspension with coil rear springs. Stopping power is handled by front and rear drums. The brakes and shocks are said to have been replaced in 2023.
The cabin is equipped with a bench seat upholstered in dark gray vinyl, and the dashboard and door panels were repainted in gray in 2023. Interior appointments include lap belts, vent windows, and a heater.
The two-spoke steering wheel fronts a 100-mph speedometer alongside gauges for water temperature and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 82k miles, approximately 100 of which were added under current ownership.
The 305ci 305D V6 was factory rated at 142 net horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. A Holley 500-cfm two-barrel carburetor was fitted in 2012, and the spark plugs, plug wires, distributor cap and rotor, air filter, valve cover gaskets, fuel filter, oil filter, exhaust manifold gaskets, and battery are said to have been replaced in 2023. The fuel pump was replaced in February 2024. The removed Bendix carburetor is included in the sale.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. The clutch slave cylinder was replaced in May 2024
