This 2023 BMW M3 is one of 500 Edition 50 Jahre examples produced for the North American market to commemorate the 50th anniversary of BMW M. Finished in Techno Violet over black Merino leather, the car is based on the M3 Competition xDrive and powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.0L inline-six mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and an M Sport differential. All Edition 50 Jahre cars came equipped with the Executive and Parking Assistance packages as well as carbon-fiber spoilers, special badging, and Style 826M wheels, and this example was optioned with M Carbon Ceramic brakes and heated and power-adjustable M Carbon front bucket seats. Additional equipment includes a carbon-fiber roof, Laserlight adaptive LED headlights, tri-zone automatic climate control, a Harman Kardon sound system, and iDrive infotainment with a BMW Curved Display. Acquired new by the current owner, this G80 M3 has 7k miles and is now offered on dealer consignment with a clean Carfax report and a clean California title.
The M3 Edition 50 Jahre was offered in five colors, and this example is finished in Techno Violet in homage to the E36 M3. Exterior details include a roof panel and front and rear spoilers constructed of carbon fiber along with extended Shadowline trim, Laserlight adaptive LED headlights, M Shadowline lights, M Heritage roundels, power-folding heated side mirrors, a power-operated trunk lid, and quadruple exhaust outlets.
The Style 826M wheels are finished in matte Orbit Grey and measure 19″ up front and 20″ out back. Pirelli P Zero tires are mounted at each corner, and M Carbon Ceramic brakes with gold-finished calipers were optioned from the factory. The car is equipped with an Adaptive M Suspension with electronically controlled dampers configurable via the M Drive system.
The optional heated and power-adjustable M Carbon front bucket seats feature backlit M3 logos below the headrests, and they are upholstered in black Merino leather that extends to the rear bench, center console, and portions of the door panels. Carbon-fiber interior trim was specified on all Edition 50 Jahre M3s, and amenities include tri-zone automatic climate control, an Active Driving Assistant, an Anthracite headliner, wireless device charging, M tri-color stitching on the seat belts, a Harman Kardon surround sound system, and iDrive infotainment with a BMW Curved Display, navigation, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability.
The heated and leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel features tri-color stitching, carbon-fiber trim, and shift paddles. Instrumentation is contained within a 12.3″ configurable display that presents a bar-style 200-mph speedometer, a matching-style 8k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature as well as readouts for additional vehicle information. The digital odometer indicates 7k miles.
A plaque affixed to the center console storage lid identifies the car as one of 500 examples produced. The door sill plates also bear Edition 50 Jahre badges.
The twin-turbocharged 3.0L S58B30T0 inline-six was factory rated at 503 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque. An oil change was most recently carried out in June 2024.
Power is sent to all four wheels through an eight-speed Steptronic automatic transmission, an M Sport differential, and an xDrive all-wheel-drive system.
