This 2002 Mercedes-Benz is one of 1,450 SL500 Silver Arrow convertibles produced for the US market to celebrate the company’s racing history. All SL500 Silver Arrow editions were finished in Silver Arrow Metallic over black and silver Exclusive leather and powered by a 5.0-liter V8 paired with a five-speed automatic transmission. Features include a removable hardtop, a black soft top, 18″ two-piece alloy wheels, xenon headlights, fog lights, heated power-adjustable seats, automatic climate control, and a Bose sound system with a six-disc CD changer. The car was purchased by the seller in November 2005, and it now has just under 70k miles. The air conditioning system and transmission was serviced in July 2022 and the fuel system was serviced in March 2024. Staggered-width 18″ two-piece alloy wheels were unique to the Silver Arrow and are mounted with Continental ExtremeContact tires. Signs of wear are noted on the front wheels. The car is equipped with electronic stability control, and braking is handled by cross-drilled brake rotors at each corner.

The cabin features heated and power-adjustable seats upholstered in black and silver Exclusive leather with black birdseye maple wood trim on the doors and center stack. Amenities include a deployable roll bar, a Bose sound system, a remote six-disc CD changer, illuminated brushed aluminum door sill plates, seat-position memory settings, automatic climate control, a wind deflector, and cruise control. The AC receiver/drier and the compressor were replaced in July 2022. Dead pixels are noted on the stereo screen.

The two-tone leather-wrapped steering wheel frames an engine-turned bezel housing a 160-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, an analog clock, and gauges for coolant temperature, oil temperature, fuel economy, and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates 70k miles, approximately 42k of which were added under current ownership.

The 5.0-liter M113 V8 was factory rated at 302 horsepower and 339 lb-ft of torque. An oil change was performed and the fuel pump and filter were replaced in March 2024.

Power is sent to the rear wheels via a five-speed automatic transmission. The transmission seals and fluid were replaced in July 2022.
