No Reserve: 1987 Buick Regal–Bodied 1986 Chevrolet El Camino

This custom truck was built by combining body and interior components from a 1987 Buick Regal with the cargo bed, chassis, and drivetrain of a 1986 Chevrolet El Camino. The vehicle was acquired by the late owner in 2008 and was subsequently repainted in its current black finish. It features a sculpted hood, a fabricated tailgate, and a tonneau cover along with GNX-style 16″ wheels. Inside, the cabin houses a split-bench seat trimmed in gray cloth accompanied by an AM/FM cassette player, air conditioning, and cruise control. Power is provided by a 305ci V8 mated to a four-speed automatic transmission, and further equipment includes front disc brakes, power steering, and a dual exhaust system. This modified El Camino is now offered at no reserve by the seller on behalf of an estate with a window sticker and owner’s manual for the Buick Regal along with refurbishment photos and a clean Connecticut title in the name of the late owner that lists the car as a 1986 Chevrolet.

The bodywork from the Buick Regal was modified to incorporate the cargo bed and fitted over the El Camino chassis as part of the initial build. A tailgate utilizing the rear panel assembly from the Regal was fabricated before the vehicle was finished in black. GNX badging, a sculpted hood, fender vents, body-color bumpers, dual side mirrors, and a tonneau cover are further details. A scratch on the right quarter panel and wear in the bed are noted.

This is a relist after the vehicle was previously sold on BaT in May 2024 and the sale was not completed. This was not due to any fault with the vehicle.
