This 1984 Porsche 944 was initially sold at Braman Porsche in Miami, Florida, reportedly to the president of a local Porsche Club of America chapter. It was previously sold on BaT in December 2018 before being acquired by the seller in 2022, and it now shows 66k miles. The car is finished in Guards Red over Brown Porsche script cloth and powered by a 2.5-liter inline-four paired with a five-speed manual transaxle. Equipment includes a Focus 9 Technology DME, a Lindsey Racing performance chip and mass air flow sensor, Koni shock absorbers, Wilwood front brake calipers, 15″ cookie-cutter alloy wheels, pop-up headlights, a rear spoiler, air conditioning, and a Blaupunkt Washington cassette stereo. This 944 is offered with a window sticker, service records, car show awards, a Carfax report, and a clean New Jersey title in the seller’s name.
This non-sunroof example is finished in Guards Red and features pop-up headlights, fog lights, bodyside moldings, and a rear spoiler. A ceramic coating was reportedly applied to the paint under current ownership. An accident with another vehicle is listed in an April 1987 entry on the Carfax report, which shows damage to the rear. The 15″ cookie-cutter alloy wheels are mounted with 215/60 Hankook Kinergy PT tires. The car is equipped with Koni front struts and rear shock absorbers, and braking is handled by power-assisted ventilated discs at each corner with red Wilwood calipers up front. The seller reports that recent service involved rebuilding the control arms and replacing the bushings, ball joints, tie rods, and sway bar brackets as well as flushing the brake fluid.
The front bucket seats are trimmed in Brown Porsche-script cloth with leatherette bolsters and joined by a color-coordinated dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Amenities include air conditioning, power windows, a Blaupunkt Washington cassette stereo, and Coco Mats carpet floor mats. There are cracks on the dashboard.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel has reportedly been refinished and frames a 170-mph speedometer and a reverse-sweep tachometer with an inset fuel economy gauge as well as readouts for coolant temperature and fuel level. An oil pressure gauge is positioned in the center stack along with an inoperative analog clock. The five-digit odometer shows 66k miles, approximately 2k of which were added under current ownership.
The 2.5-liter M44 inline-four features Bosch engine management and was factory rated at 143 horsepower and 142 lb-ft of torque. A Focus 9 Technology DME is said to have been added along with a throttle response cam and a Lindsey Racing performance chip and mass air flow sensor. The seller states that the timing belt and water pump were replaced in 2022 and that the fuel filter and engine oil were recently changed.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a rear-mounted five-speed manual transaxle for which the fluid was recently exchanged.
The window sticker lists factory colors, equipment, and a total of $22,000.
