This 1988 Jaguar XJ6 Vanden Plas is finished in Silver Birch Metallic (MDJ) over Magnolia leather. Powered by a 3.6-liter inline-six mated to a four-speed automatic transmission, it has 15″ alloy wheels, heated and power-adjustable front seats, rear picnic tables, and a cassette stereo. Suspension, brake, and ignition components were replaced after the selling dealer acquired the car in 2023. This XJ40 Vanden Plas has 10k miles and is offered by the selling dealer at no reserve with manufacturer’s literature, accessories, a clean Carfax report, and a clean New Jersey title.
The car’s metallic finish is contrasted by pinstripes and a gold Leaper hood ornament. Equipment includes a power-operated sunroof, quadruple round headlights, headlamp washers, smoked taillights, and dual exhaust outlets.
Alloy 15″ wheels are mounted with older 205/70 Pirelli Cinturato P5 tires that have sidewall cracks. A two-spoke steering wheel fronts lighting and trip-computer controls. The instrument cluster has a 150-mph speedometer and a tachometer flanked by digital auxiliary gauges and a Vehicle Condition Monitor display. The digital odometer indicates 10k miles.
Factory rated at 181 horsepower and 221 lb-ft of torque, the 3.6-liter AJ6 inline-six has Lucas electronic fuel injection, and it sends power to the rear wheels through a ZF four-speed automatic transmission. The ignition wires, spark plugs, and battery were replaced in preparation for the sale.
