This 1977 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am was refurbished following the seller’s 2010 acquisition, and subsequent modifications were completed in 2020 and involved the installation of a 535ci V8 that was built by BES Racing Engines of Guilford, Indiana, and is backed by Tremec six-speed manual transmission and a Currie 9″ rear end. Revised bodywork is wrapped in white vinyl, and the car is fitted with widebody fender flares, a front splitter, and a rear wing in addition to 18″ Billet Specialties wheels, Ridetech suspension components, and Baer brakes. The interior houses a pair of Corbeau racing seats equipped with harnesses in addition to a roll bar, AutoMeter Cobalt instrumentation, and a Hurst shifter. This modified Trans Am is now offered in Florida with a spare wheel, two spare tires, spare parts, partial build documents, a seller-provided build list, and an Ohio title in the seller’s name.

The car wears a white vinyl wrap over white paintwork. Exterior equipment includes widebody fender flares, a front splitter, a Nine Lives Racing rear wing, a rear diffuser, and a vented cowl induction hood with pins. Marks on the fenders and a tear in the vinyl wrap are depicted in the gallery below. The windshield wipers do not work, and the windshield trim is missing.

Five-spoke 18″ Billet Specialties wheels are mounted with Hoosier racing tires. Ridetech suspension includes coilovers, a rear four-link setup, and a front TruTurn system. Braking is handled by six-piston front and four-piston rear Baer calipers over slotted discs, and the system is equipped with a Hydratech booster and a Tilton master cylinder. A Performance Steering Components pump and reservoir are also installed.

The cabin houses a pair of Corbeau racing seats trimmed in black and equipped with expired harnesses. A roll bar and a Hurst shifter are also installed. The air conditioning system and heater core have been removed, and the radio and dome light do not work.

The leather-wrapped Formula-style steering wheel fronts AutoMeter Cobalt instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer, a 10k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary readouts. The digital odometer shows 2,200, and total mileage is unknown.

The 535ci V8 was built in 2020 by BES Racing in Guilford, Indiana. It is equipped with an Edelbrock high-rise intake manifold, an Eagle crankshaft, Ross pistons, and a COMP Cams camshaft. Additional equipment includes Holley Sniper fuel injection, MSD ignition, an Aeromotive in-tank fuel pump, and an Entropy radiator with dual electric fans. The battery is mounted in the trunk and equipped with a kill switch. Dyno sheets from July 2020 are provided in the gallery and indicate output of up to 738 horsepower and 745 lb-ft of torque.

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a six-speed Tremec T56 Magnum transmission and a Currie 9″ rear axle. A McLeod twin-disc clutch is installed.
