This 1978 Ford F-250 Custom is a Crew Cab pickup finished in Silver Metallic that is powered by a 400ci V8 mated to a four-speed manual transmission, a dual-range transfer case, and a limited-slip rear differential. Riding on 16″ steel wheels, the truck is equipped with manually locking front hubs, power steering, low-mount swing-lock mirrors, a receiver hitch, and two rows of bench seating upholstered in black vinyl as well as a cab heater and an AM radio. Acquired by the selling dealer in 2023, this Crew Cab F-250 is now offered with a Deluxe Marti Report and a clean Oregon title.
The truck was optioned with a four-door Crew Cab and left the factory finished in Silver Metallic. It was repainted in 2021 and features a chrome grille and front bumper, low-mount swing-lock mirrors, and bright bodyside moldings with black vinyl inserts as well as a receiver hitch and a silver-finished diamond-plate rear bumper.
Silver-painted 16″ steel wheels feature chrome hubcaps and are mounted with 285/75R16 Thunderer Trac Grip M/T tires. The truck is equipped with power steering and manually locking front hubs as well as power-assisted front disc and rear drum brakes.
The Crew Cab houses two rows of bench seating upholstered in black vinyl. Black carpeting lines the floors, and the interior is further appointed with a heater, an AM radio, and four crank-operated windows.
The two-spoke steering wheel frames a 100-mph speedometer as well as gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, battery charge status, and fuel level. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 38k miles, and true mileage is unknown. The fuel-level gauge functions intermittently.
The 400ci V8 has been repainted blue and fitted with an open-element air cleaner. Factory-rated output was 169 horsepower.
Power is sent to the rear or all four wheels through a four-speed manual transmission, a dual-range transfer case, and a limited-slip rear differential with 4.10:1 gearing. The frame and related underside components have been repainted, and a photo of the frame stamping can be viewed in the gallery.
The Deluxe Marti Report shows a build date of December 22, 1977, and initial delivery to Tower Motor Company of Coos Bay, Oregon. Factory colors, equipment, and options are displayed along with production statistics.
