This 1955 Ford Fairlane Crown Victoria underwent a refurbishment before it was acquired in 2019 by the Petersen Automotive Museum of Los Angeles, California. The car is finished in two-tone red and white over matching vinyl upholstery, and power comes from a 272ci V8 paired with a Ford-O-Matic three-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes a Holley two-barrel carburetor, MSD electronic ignition, and a dual exhaust system with glasspack mufflers as well as chrome bumpers and trim, power steering, 15″ chrome wire wheels, fender skirts, a Continental kit, air conditioning, and an AM radio. This Crown Victoria is now offered at no reserve with a clean California title.
Delivered from the factory in two-tone Torch Red and Snowshoe White (RE3), the car was repainted under previous ownership. Equipment includes chrome bumpers and trim, an antenna, a wrap-around windshield, dual side-view mirrors, and fender skirts. The chrome is flaking on the rear bumper, there is rust on the rear license plate holder, and the seller notes paint blemishes as well as oxidation on the brightwork.
Chrome wire-spoke wheels wear faux knock-off center caps and are mounted with 6.70–15 Firestone whitewall bias-ply tires. A spare wheel is stowed in the Continental kit out back. The car is equipped with power steering, and stopping power is handled by drums at all four corners.
The cabin features front and rear bench seats trimmed in two-tone white and red vinyl along with color-matched door panels, a white headliner, and red carpets. Equipment includes an AM radio, an under-dash air conditioning system, and a locking glovebox.
The two-spoke steering wheel features a semi-circular chrome horn ring, and it frames a backlit 120-mph speedometer along with gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. A Sunpro temperature readout is mounted below the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 18k miles, a handful of which were added by the seller. Total mileage is unknown.
The 272ci V8 features chrome Ford-branded valve covers. A Holley two-barrel carburetor and MSD electronic ignition were installed under previous ownership. An oil change was performed in May 2024.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Ford-O-Matic three-speed automatic transmission. The dual exhaust system features glasspack mufflers.
