No Reserve: 1979 BMW R80/7

This 1979 BMW R80/7 is said to have remained in storage for several years under prior ownership, and recommissioning work in May 2023 consisted of changing the fluids, overhauling the front disc brake, and adjusting the carburetors, valves, and timing in addition to replacing the speedometer cable, fuel lines, and ignition components. Finished in Burnt Orange Metallic, it is powered by a 798cc opposed twin paired with a five-speed transmission. Equipment includes an enclosed driveshaft, an electric starter, a chrome dual exhaust system, Bing carburetors, 19″ and 18″ snowflake alloy wheels, both center and side stands, and a black two-up seat along with BMW hard-sided panniers. Acquired by its current owner in 2023, this R80/7 is now offered at no reserve by the seller on behalf of their sibling with service records, a tool kit, and a clean New York title in the owner’s name.

The 19″ front and 18″ rear snowflake-style alloy wheels are mounted with Pirelli MT66 tires, and braking is provided by a single front disc and a rear drum. Suspension consists of a leading-axle fork as well as dual Hagon shocks mounted to the swingarm on the left and the final-drive enclosure on the right. The fork oil was changed in May 2023, and the seller notes weeping from the left-leg seal. Brake work at that time included rebuilding the front caliper and replacing the master cylinder, hose, and pads.
