1967 Ford Fairlane 500 Convertible

This 1967 Ford Fairlane 500 convertible was acquired by the seller as a non-running project in February 2023, and it was subsequently refurbished. The 390ci V8 was fitted with a Holley Street Warrior 600-cfm carburetor, a Carter fuel pump, and PerTronix ignition along with replacement seals, the kickdown lever for the C-6 automatic transmission was repaired, the brakes and suspension were overhauled, and BFGoodrich tires were mounted on the American Racing wheels. Outside, the grille was repaired, trim items were replaced, and the power-operated black soft top was serviced, and interior trim components were also replaced along with a window regulator and gauges. This Fairlane 500 convertible is now offered with a clean California title.

The car was repainted its current shade of white in the 2010s. Touch-ups and a repair on the rocker were performed by the seller, who also repaired the grille and replaced the trim. The black soft top motor was serviced, hydraulic lines were repaired, and wiring was fixed. The seller notes that further work is required on the wipers.

The trunk was refurbished with aluminum supports over the fuel tank, custom floor panels, and black carpeting.

BFGoodrich tires were mounted on the 17″ American Racing wheels. A front disc brake kit was installed and the following components were replaced:

  • Lower front control arms
  • Tie rod ends
  • Ball joints
  • Front strut rods and bushings
  • Shocks

  • Center link and Pitman arm adapter

The cabin features front and rear bench seats upholstered in black vinyl. The floor mats and door panels were replaced by the seller along with a crank handle and the left-side window regulator. The antenna was replaced, but the radio does not work.

The five-digit odometer shows 56k miles, approximately 100 of which have been added under current ownership. The seller installed replacement voltmeter, tachometer, and oil pressure gauges and replaced the ignition switch and wiring harness.

The 390ci V8 was serviced with a replacement throttle linkage, valve cover gaskets, battery, and starter solenoid. A PerTronix coil and distributor were fitted along with a Holley Street Warrior 600-cfm carburetor, and a Carter fuel pump was installed along with a replacement fuel filter, sending unit, and hoses. The control module for the air conditioning pump was also replaced.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission. The kickdown lever for the transmission was repaired, though the seller states it still needs to be connected to the carburetor. The car has a dual exhaust system with a crossover pipe and MagnaFlow mufflers.
