No Reserve: Formula 1-Style Racing Simulator

This racing simulator is a multi-display rig featuring Formula 1-style bodywork, Pirelli-branded tires, and a motorized base with air-assisted actuators that provide motion feedback functionality. The rig incorporates three 32″ Samsung curved displays, a padded black vinyl seat, and a three-point safety harness as well as a modified Logitech G29 steering wheel and pedals. The rig includes a PC, a surround sound system, and a pre-installed copy of F1 2020. This motion racing simulator was acquired by the selling dealer in 2024 and is now offered at no reserve in Lauderhill, Florida.

The fiberglass bodywork was designed to resemble a Formula 1 car from the turbo-hybrid era, and it is finished in yellow and black. Additional details incudes a removable nose cone, exposed faux suspension components and center-mounted air intake, a rear wing, and used Pirelli-branded tires. The rig measures approximately 17 feet in length, and is mounted on a rolling frame.

The cockpit is outfitted with a three-point safety harness, air-powered active side bolstering, and padded black vinyl seat that provides a Formula 1-style seating position. Three 32″ Samsung curved displays are mounted to an angled frame, and additional equipment includes side-view mirrors, a Trust Audio adjustment dial, and a tray fitted with a wireless Logitech keyboard.

The Logitech G29 was modified to resemble a single seater-style steering wheel, and is equipped with aluminum shift paddles and programmable buttons. Logitech bottom-hinged pedals are mounted to an angled pedal box. Videos provided in the gallery below show the system operating as well as gameplay footage for F1 2020.

The rig features air-assisted actuators for force feedback and motion simulation that can be pressurized via a compressor connection at the rear. Additional modifications were made to the Logitech wheelbase and pedals in order to communicate with the motion system.
