No Reserve: 21k-Mile 1999 Ford Crown Victoria “Cobra Vic” 5-Speed

This 1999 Ford Crown Victoria is one of 18 “Cobra Vic” examples that were assembled by Roush Performance for the Bob Bondurant School of High-Performance Driving in Chandler, Arizona. It is modified with a Mustang Cobra-sourced 4.6-liter DOHC V8, an oversized water pump and radiator, a five-speed manual transmission, a Traction-Lok rear differential, a fuel cell, a performance-tuned suspension, slotted disc brakes, 17″ Cobra R wheels, a custom front bumper, a roll cage, a Corbeau racing driver seat, Simpson multi-point harnesses, and a fire suppression system. Additional equipment includes air conditioning, power windows, and a CD stereo. The seller acquired the car from Bondurant in 2007 and the bodywork was refinished in black and the dual exhaust system and radiator were replaced under current ownership. This “Cobra Vic” is offered at no reserve with a clean Carfax report and a clean California title in the seller’s name.

The car was refinished in black in 2023 at which time the weatherstripping was replaced along with the headlights, taillights, and turn signal housings. A custom front bumper cover is fitted along with power-adjustable side mirrors and a decklid spoiler.

Silver 17″ Cobra R wheels are mounted with 285/40 Continental ExtremeContact Sport tires with 2021 date codes. Bondurant cars ride on a lowered suspension featuring Eibach springs, Monroe shocks, and larger anti-roll bars. Braking is handled by four-wheel discs with a slotted rotor at each corner.

The cabin houses a black Corbeau fixed-back racing seat for the driver as well as a factory passenger bucket seat and rear bench trimmed in Light Graphite cloth. Appointments include a roll cage, front and rear multi-point Simpson racing harnesses, air conditioning, power windows and locks, a CD stereo, and a Ford Contour-sourced center console that houses the shifter, emergency brake handle, and a switch for the Halon fire suppression system. The dash houses an electrical cut-off switch and a switch to disable the anti-lock brakes. The material of the racing seat is faded, the sun visors are removed, and holes from removed window nets are visible on the door panels. The window nets and hardware are included in the sale.

The airbag steering wheel frames white-dial instrumentation consisting of a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,800-rpm redline as well as supplementary gauges for coolant temperature, fuel level, voltage, and oil pressure. The digital odometer indicates 21k miles, approximately 10k of which were added under current ownership. Cracks are visible on the instrument cluster lens and bezel.

The 4.6-liter DOHC V8 was sourced from a contemporary Mustang Cobra and was retrofitted by Roush Performance for the Bondurant school. Equipment includes a Cobra R-style oil cooler, a larger water pump, radiator, and cooling fans, silicone cooling hoses, and a trunk-mounted battery and 22-gallon fuel cell. Magnaflow catalytic converters and a replacement dual exhaust system were installed in 2011. The radiator was replaced and an oil change was performed in November 2023.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Mustang Cobra-sourced Tremec T45 five-speed manual transmission and a Roush-modified Traction-Lok rear axle with 3.73 gearing. The underside received a rust-inhibiting coating in March 2024.
