This 1984 Chrysler LeBaron Town & Country station wagon was sold new in March 1984 by Pasadena Chrysler Plymouth Inc. in California, where it remained with its original owner until 2009. The car was then purchased by a neighbor of the first owner, who moved it to Oregon in 2016, and the vehicle was acquired by the seller on BaT in September 2020. Power comes from a 2.6-liter inline-four paired with a three-speed automatic transaxle, and the car is finished in white with woodgrain trim over a brown Mark Cross leather interior. Service in 2020 included rebuilding the carburetor, replacing the distributor, and converting the air-conditioning system to use R134a refrigerant. Work conducted under current ownership has involved updating the head unit and speakers, tinting the windows, performing a tune-up, and replacing the headliner. This K-car woodie wagon shows 42k miles and is now offered at no reserve with original sales paperwork, manufacturer’s literature, service records, period personalized California license plates, the removed radio, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Maryland title in the seller’s name.
The eighth-generation Town & Country debuted as a K-platform-based station wagon for the 1982 model year and featured vinyl faux-woodgrain exterior trim. This example is finished in white and equipped with a crystal Pentastar hood ornament, dual side mirrors, a rear window wiper, and a chrome roof rack with woodgrain accents. Steel 14″ wheels wear cross-lace wire covers and 185/75 Hankook Optimo H724 whitewall tires that show 2012 and 2013 date codes. The CV joints were rebuilt with replacement boots in 2019, and the brakes were serviced most recently in 2020.
The five-passenger cabin is trimmed in Mark Cross brown leather with darker accents, and faux-burl-wood trim adorns the dashboard and the door panels. Amenities include power windows, power locks, cruise control, carpeted floor mats, and fold-down center front armrests. The air-conditioning system was converted use to R134a refrigerant in 2020 under prior ownership. A Kenwood eXcelon head unit and replacement speakers were installed under current ownership, and the headliner was replaced.
A two-spoke steering wheel frames an 85-mph speedometer, a fuel gauge, warning lights, and a Message Center. The five-digit odometer shows 42k miles, approximately 1,400 of which have been added by the seller. A plaque with the original owner’s name is affixed to the dashboard under the instrument cluster.
The carbureted 2.6-liter Mitsubishi inline-four was factory rated at 99 horsepower and 137 lb-ft of torque in California specification. The carburetor was rebuilt, the distributor was replaced, and a tune-up was performed in 2020. The oil was changed most recently in January 2024.
Power is sent to the front wheels through a three-speed automatic transaxle that received fresh fluid in 2020. The exhaust system is stamped 1-1984, and a hole is visible in the bottom of the resonator.
A collection of 1984 sales paperwork, manufacturer’s literature, service records, the removed radio, and photos of the second owner receiving the car from its original owner will accompany the vehicle.
