383 Stroker-Powered 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Hardtop

This 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air hardtop has been modified with a 383ci stroker V8 that is equipped with a dual-quad Edelbrock intake and Doug’s headers. Power is transferred to the Ford 9″ rear end via a TH400 automatic transmission with a shift kit, and the front end has been overhauled with disk brakes, tubular control arms, and rack-and-pinion steering. The car also has Rally wheels, Vintage Air climate control, power windows, tilt steering, and power front bucket seats. Purchased by the seller in 2019, this Bel Air is now offered with a car cover and a clean Illinois title in the seller’s name.

The car is finished in blue and features twin wind splits, hooded headlights, dual chrome mirrors, tinted glass, dual exhaust outlets, a fuel filler concealed above the left taillight, and chrome bumpers and trim. There is a 2″-long crack and paint bubble on the hood near the windshield on the right side.

The 15″ Rally wheels have trim rings and simulated knock-offs, and they are mounted with 215/70 front and 295/50 rear Kelly Charger tires. The overhauled front end has tubular control arms, disc brakes, and rack-and-pinion steering, and a dual-circuit master cylinder has been installed.

Power-adjustable front bucket seats have been installed along with a custom center console housing cupholders and a B&M shifter. The custom rear bench has an integrated armrest with cupholders. Vintage Air climate control has been installed along with a vintage-look stereo.

An SS-logo steering wheel and aftermarket gauges have also been installed along with a tilt steering column. The five-digit odometer shows 850 miles, approximately 750 of which were added under current ownership. Total chassis mileage is unknown.

The 383ci stoker V8 has an aluminum Edelbrock intake manifold topped by two four-barrel Edelbrock carburetors and a polished air cover. Doug’s headers are linked to a dual stainless-steel exhaust system. MSD ignition, a polished air conditioning compressor, an aluminum radiator, and a billet overflow tank were also installed along with AN fuel lines and an Edelbrock pump. The wiring harness has been replaced, and the battery has been relocated to the trunk. The seller states the oil was changed in preparation for the sale.

The TH400 is said to have been modified with a shift kit, and it is linked to a Ford 9″ rear end with 3.73 gearing.
