Indian car maker Mahindra is set to launch its contender to the Toyota RAV4 and Nissan X-Trail family SUVs in Australia next month. The Mahindra XUV700 is estimated to have a $40,000 price tag and comes with petrol power and seven seats. Although final specifications and prices are yet to be confirmed, Australian buyers will have the choice of two highly-specified models – AX7 and AX7L. Both models are said to include advanced driver assistance systems, such as autonomous emergency braking, forward collision warning, and adaptive cruise control. However, some safety features, such as blind-spot monitor and rear cross-traffic alert technology, will only be available in the top-of-the-range AX7L in the form of a camera. Final specifications and pricing are set to be announced on June 15.
