Manufacturer: Hans Glas GmbH, Dingolfing – Germany Type: Goggomobil TS250 Coupé Engine: 247cc straight-2 2-stroke air-cooled Power: 13,6 bhp / 5.400 rpm Speed: 80 km/h Production time: 1957 – 1969 Production outlet: 52,011 Production outlet: 66,511 (all Coupé models) Curb weight: 460 kg Special: – The Goggomobil TS 2+2 coupe was based on the Goggomobil T (designed by Hans Glas) and introduced at the 1957 IFMA show. – The name derives from Andreas, one of Glas’s sons, which was called by the nickname “Goggi”. – This 4 passengers notchback coupé with rear mounted engine has a four-speed manual gearbox, twin-plate “dog” clutch (in an oil bath), Dynastart, a Bing 1/24 carburettor, a 12-Volts electric system, a 25 liter fuel tank and rear wheel drive. – The chassis with steel body has a 71 inch wheelbase, swing axles and independent coil spring front and rear suspension, rack & pinion steering, 4.40 x 10 inch tires and 7.1 inch hydraulic drum brakes all round. – The last TS Coupé with suicide doors (like this one ☺!) was produced in 1964. – A Gedrag (Ludwigsburg, Germany) electric four-speed preselector with “square” dash quadrants was optional. – Special export versions were exported to the United States, with a 400cc engine, an automatic gasoline-oil mixer and 7 inch sealed beam headlights as required by US regulations. – Unlike the TS300 Coupé and TS400 Coupé, this TS250 Coupé was never (officially) sold in the UK. – Goggomobiles were produced as T = Limousine, as TS = Coupé, as TL = Transporter/Van and as Buckle Dart (a Roadster by Buckle Motors Pty Ltd.,Sydney) in Australia.
