RS-Style 1968 Porsche 911L Coupe

This 1968 Porsche 911L coupe has been modified with steel long-wheelbase bodywork along with a fiberglass ducktail decklid and bumpers. The replacement 2.0L flat-six has been fitted with Bosch CIS fuel injection and is linked with a Type 915 five-speed manual transaxle. It is finished in Tangerine over a black interior housing fixed-back bucket seats and Sparco harnesses. Additional modifications include H4 headlights, three-into-one exhaust headers, Bilstein shocks, aluminum rear semi-trailing arms, and 16″ Fuchs-style wheels. The car was acquired by the current owner after being offered on BaT in January 2024, and Carrera decals have since been added and the suspension was adjusted. This modified 911L is now offered on dealer consignment in Tennessee with a Porsche Production Specifications sheet and a clean California title.

The car left the factory finished in Tangerine (6809) and was modified in the 1980s with steel long-wheelbase flared quarter panels and updated Carrera bodywork. Following the prior owner’s 2020 purchase, a metal panel was welded in place of the sunroof, longhood-style sheetmetal was added to the nose of the car, and a fiberglass ducktail decklid and RS-style bumpers were installed prior to a repaint. Black Carrera stripe graphics were added under current ownership, and additional exterior details include a driver-side “flag” mirror and H4 headlights along with later-model taillights, door handles, and side window frames. The left front turn signal is cracked, and the seller notes overspray around the car and a bubble on the right rear drip rail.

Black-finished 16″ Fuchs-style wheels feature polished lips and are mounted with 205/50 and 225/50 Kumho Ecsta AST tires. The suspension was adjusted since the last auction, and it features Bilstein dampers as well as later-model aluminum rear semi-trailing arms. Braking is handled by four-wheel discs.
