2019 Honda Accord Review and Price
I love the series hybrid. I love not needing an oil change for 10k miles. I love that I can get 450 miles consistently on a tank and 600 on long trips. The electric motor is smooth as butter with excellent power. Be careful if you push the sport mode button while you are going down the street because it will lurch forward.
Two things hurt the gas mileage on all hybrids steep hills and Heating/Cooling. In the summer I’m getting 40-45 miles per gallon, during winter I’m getting high 35-40. That might not sound so great but if you saw the hill I have to climb everyday you would understand.
The 450 watt sounds system needs a speaker replacement choose them based on the stock amp. The 8″ sub is free air and probably under 100watts rms so it’s tricky to shop for.
After carefully researching all of the hybrids vehicles available, I selected the Accord based on how well the hybrid system integrates so smoothly with the gas-powered engine. This 4th of July weekend, I spend it traveling on Skyline Drive in Virginia.
This scenic route travels through the mountains of the Blue Ridge and let me tell you, the vehicle handled the hills, the downshifting, the cornering, like a champ and traveled well over 300 miles with about 3/8 of fuel used. The transition between the gas engine and the Hybrid system is flawless and you can definitely feel the torque when both systems run in sync. I am very impressed with the vehicle so far, although I do expect a lot from an engine company like Honda. All in all a great car.
