The Cadillac XT4 is a very nice, luxury and expensive crossover. However, it is not immediately recognized as a Cadillac.
I have always been attracted to compact crossovers – these are cars that attract a huge number of buyers.
To keep up with its European competitors, Cadillac focused on the technical aspects and performance of the XT4, with a strong focus on design, fuel efficiency and technology. After driving on motorways and country roads in other cars, I can confirm that the Cadillac XT4 is a really nice and luxurious little crossover. Well, most of the time, anyway.
On the other hand, the crossover is easily recognizable from the front by the complex design of the front optics, which is made in one block with the running lights, with a cascading led waterfall all the way to the bumper.
The exterior is noticeably a little chrome and more practical black plastic lining around the perimeter.
At the back, the new Cadillac will be easy to distinguish, but harder to identify the model. In my opinion, more dynamic proportions of this car are more suitable for young people.
The rear led optics extend from the roof itself, and l-shaped boomerangs boldly enter the trunk lid.
The more modern interior of the new Cadillac XT4 makes a pleasant impression, there are its own features: a salon mirror, which displays a picture with streaming video from the rear camera and a washer for controlling the multimedia system.
The on-Board multimedia system can be controlled by steering wheel controls, voice commands, a touch-screen display, and a rotary controller. Fortunately, Cadillac engineers have left enough familiar buttons on the panel for functions that require frequent and quick access. For example, for climate control. Because no one likes to go into the wilds of the menu, press or say commands to turn on the air conditioner.
Inside the XT4 is spacious and comfortable thanks to the shape of the wide front panel and an abundance of soft, pleasant-to-touch surfaces. Located above the center console, the 8-inch touch screen seemed too small for a luxury crossover, but access to the multimedia system through it was easy and intuitive.
The rear seat is free to seat for two adult passengers. But the third will be superfluous — this is hinted at by a massive transmission tunnel and just a couple of head restraints.
The seat backs easily fold in a ratio of 2 to 1 and form a flat floor with a luggage compartment and 1,4 thousand liters of useful volume and up to 0,6 thousand liters with raised seats.
The engine is paired with a nine-speed Hydra-Matic automatic transmission.
Passive suspension is not impressive – excessive rocking on the waves, and with adaptive significantly better – balanced behavior with a smooth ride.
